In January 2008, I worked with all year groups at Ludworth School, raising awareness about climate change, discussing renewable energy and looking at food miles.

Years 1 and 2 made faces with fruit and vegetables and talked about where food came from and when various vegetables were in season in this country. They then made life size pictures using pulses and seeds.

Years 3 and 4 discussed extreme weather conditions and the impact of climate change and then looked at imagery of deserts and storms. They enjoyed drawing hot or stormy pictures with chalk pastels.

Years 5 and 6 talked about recycling and the problems of landfill; they made monsters out of rubbish they had collected from home
