I am going to include all the work I am and have been involved with here, so that you can see that although there have been years when my chosen career may have been on hold, I have got involved with other projects too; not least raising four children.

I live and work in Durham City; I am passionate about community, about the environment and about living sustainable lives. Durham is a place where it is small enough to walk everywhere,  where it is possible to engage with local issues -  and get your voice heard, and where the allotments (one of which I tend) have a heavenly view, overlooking the West Front of the Cathedral. 

2010-2011 Sabbatical year living in Vietnam and Australia;  a huge privilege to experience other ways of living. I painted (and potted!) and worked part-time for the National Trust (doing picture research) and 'Green Skills' a not for profit organisation not unlike Climate Durham

2010  Solo show 'Flight' in Al Qasimi Building, Durham University. The theme was displaced people

2008 Established social enterprise company called Climate Durham to inspire and enable people locally to live lower carbon lifestyles

2008 Solo show 'Windows on the World' in the Al Qasimi Building, Durham University

2008 Completed raising money for Fenwick Lawson's The Journey, which is now situated in Millennium Place, Durham

2008  Worked with all year groups in Ludworth School on the theme of the environment and climate change

2007  Project with University Hospital North Durham to provide signs for a Woodland  Walk, working in schools to generate artwork, see Woodland Walk

2007  Arts Week, St Margaret's Primary School Durham 

2006  Commission for St Cuthbert's Hospice

2006  Commission for University Hospital North Durham, as part of  Arts for Health programme 

2006  Project with St Oswald's Primary School on the theme of 'food' 

2006  Jointly established a charity to raise money for a piece of sculpture The Journey,  to be  placed in Durham City 

2005  Supplied Bridge End Surgery, Chester-le-Street with 20 works for their reception area 

2005  Project with Durham High School Juniors 

1998-2001 Set up TravelMole, under the umbrella of Sift; a website for the travel trade 

1997  Solo show, Pall Mall Deposit, London 

1996  Solo show, Collingwood College,  Durham

1990-2002 Wrote guidebooks to Southeast Asia for Footprint 

1986-1993 Taught in Fine Art department, Sir John Cass Art College (now Guildhall University)
